Delhi Court has ordered five-days police custody of Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of Aam Aadmi Party.
Manish Sisodia was arrested yesterday by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in excise policy case. Police had sought five-day custody which the court granted. Sisodia is suspected to have hatched a conspiracy while framing excise policy that caused loss to state exchequer and benefitted liquor businessmen.
Several non-BJP, prominent politicians across the country have raised fingers and AAP supporters have staged protests against the arrest of Sisodia.
On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Ballabh, said :
Preventing an officer of law from discharging his official duties is an offense but Arvind Kejriwal and his party members who took oath in the name of the constitution seem to be forgetting that.
