Indian Navy submarine INS Shindukesari arrives in Indonesia

Indian Navy submarine INS Shindukesari has arrived in Indonesia to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indian Navy and Indonesian Navy. This is significant in view of prevailing tensions in south China sea over China’s territorial claims.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Indonesian Navy Warmly Welcomes the Arrival of the Indian Submarine INS Shindukesari in Jakarta 

INS Shindukesari (S 60) is 3,000 tons Sindhughosh-class submarine.

In order to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, the Indonesian Navy, in this case Lantamal III Jakarta, provided support in the form of security and anchoring facilities for the Indian Submarine INS Shindukesari at JITC II Pier, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta Wednesday (23/02/2023) ).

The arrival of the Indian submarine INS Shindukesari with the commander of the ship Commander Libu Raj was warmly welcomed in a military ceremony led by Deputy Commander of Lantamal III Marine Colonel (P) Heri Prihartanto representing the Commander of the Indonesian Navy Main Base (Lantamal) III Jakarta Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Harry Indarto, SE , MM accompanied by Asintel, Asops, Aslog Danlantamal III, Dansatrol Lantamal III and Athan India for Indonesia Captain Ammmmitabh Saxena.

In securing the anchorage and facilities, Jakarta Lantamal III deployed several related elements including the Merploeqh Dissyahal Lantamal III team, open security Pomal Lantamal III, closed security Lantamal III Intel Team, Yonmarhanlan III troop security and sea security by Satrol Lantamal III. All of these security elements are interrelated for the smooth running of supporting the security of foreign ships that rely on the working area of ​​Lantamal III, of course by implementing procedures and provisions that apply in the Indonesian Navy with international standards.

In his speech Danlantamal III delivered by Deputy Lantamal III said, “With gratitude and enthusiasm for the Navy Brotherhood, this visit is very important to improve relations between the two countries, especially the Republic of India Navy and the Indonesian Navy in various fields of cooperation. During the next two days in Jakarta, there are several activities that have been coordinated by the Indonesian Navy. We hope that during the visit to Jakarta you will get many benefits and you can enjoy them at ease before continuing your assignments in your country of origin,” concluded Colonel Heri.
