He twitted:

Sparrows in our house. I have kept 50 nests. The sparrows have started laying eggs. There are more than 100 sparrows in the house. I always feed millet, coconut and rice flakes to the sparrows. It’s summer, don’t forget to keep water for the sparrows in the house.

PM Modi has lauded his efforts for preserving the Sparrows

Currently, population of sparrows almost everywhere in the world is decreasing.

House sparrows are known only to live in close contact with human beings in buildings and gardens. Their population is on decline mainly due to currents trends in urbanisation which does not support their habitats. Modern house designs, pollution, microwave towers, pesticides, loss of natural grasslands etc have made it difficult for sparrows to sustain hence decline in their population.
