President Zelenskyy of Ukraine has spoken to Prime Minister Modi on telephone and thanked him for humanitarian aids during the crisis and support at UN. He wished India a successful G20 presidency and urged India’s participation in implementation of his peace formula that he announced in recently concluded G20 Summit in Bali.
Interestingly, President Putin said in a television interview yesterday that Russia is “prepared to negotiate some acceptable outcomes with all the participants of this process. He said that “it’s not us who refuse talks, it’s them”
Apparently, Prime Minister Modi is on good terms and is in regular touch with both the leaders. His famous “Today’s era is not of war.…‘’observation to President Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in September 2022 was well received by international community.
War fatigue has set in. Both Russia and Ukraine have already suffered a lot. In fact, entire world has, directly or indirectly, been impacted by the war.
India’s G20 presidency and the forthcoming Summit in New Delhi would provide opportunity for dialogues between the stakeholders and possible mediation and resolution of the conflict.
